Story
Friday 12 July 2024 is the 10yr (!) anniversary of the first Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour Live show. SPCP Live was a 24hr live podcast broadcast featuring lots of guests, including comic industry favourites such as Jamal Igle, Jennie Gyllblad, and Adam Hughes (to name just a few), as well as fellow podcasters from shows such as Geek Syndicate, 2 Grown Men, Geektress, and more. Thanks to all of the amazing support, the first SPCP Live raised £1,300 for Operation Smile, and spurred me on to do two further SPCP Live charity shows, raising £1,315 for Alzheimer's Society in 2016, and £1,510 for the British Heart Foundation in 2018.
It didn't feel right to not mark the occasion, as these 3 shows are some of my proudest achievements; not just in podcasting, but in general! As such, I would be so hugely grateful for any and all donations to this page in celebration of the 72hrs of absolutely bananas-brilliant podcasting that helped bring smiles to children, and further research into Alzheimer's, dementia, and heart diseases & conditions.
I chose to fundraise for The BHF again as last year, my utterly potty and completely adored mother-in-law, Pam, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. I also have a heart condition myself and have utilised BHF resources on coping with it, so the charity is incredibly meaningful to me.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK, and just £12 could pay for an hour of research by an early career scientist. Every pound helps, so please give what you can to help me celebrate SPCP Live's fundraising legacy. Thank you!
