Story

NB: Despite the Darwall case being won (hurrah!), I want to honour the people who sponsored me and while I understand some/most of the court case money will be returned to folk, there are projects being discussed, concerning getting young disadvantaged people out on the moor. Lets face it, we love our moor and they're not a wealthy benefactor, so let's keep going.

I want to support the right to roam freely on Dartmoor, unencumbered by restrictions imposed by individual landowners, despite overwhelming evidence of the general wellbeing, confidence, resilience and 'leave no trace' ethos that wild camping can bring.

I aim to do this by running barefoot across Dartmoor, A self supported reservoir challenge, running between the six main reservoirs on Dartmoor and an Everest equivalent climb (8,849m at Stalldown), also on the moor. I aim to complete all three Dartmoor challenges, before the end of autumn, starting in the middle of May.

My business is strongly linked to Dartmoor and has given me a grounded connection with the landscape and its roots. I believe that there is a momentum, which will overturn this self serving court case brought by the Darwalls. But a much broader public interest would also be served in the long term, if this ruling is overturned. DPA and DNPA are badly in need of funds, so let's help!
