Story

Many of the schools of South Bank Trust in York are joining together to help fundraise for OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.

Oscar was a sporty 8-year-old York schoolboy when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He died a year later and the chairty was set up to help others like him and their families. OSCAR's provides support and care, raises awareness and funds research. You can learn more at oscarspbtc.org

One of our ex-pupils, Cain North, has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. Cain is 22-years-old and works alongside OSCAR's to raise awareness and funds to support the families they help. We wanted to support him as he does this amazing work.

One of Oscar's ex-teachers, Phil Martinez, runs the charity and will be coming in to talk to pupils and staff about OSCAR's along with Cain.

Don't forget to add GiftAid to your donation so OSCAR's receives an extra 25%. Thank you very much for anything you can give.

About the charity

OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.
