Story
It’s year 2 of being an Ambassador for FreetoRun and I would love to raise another $1000. In return I’ve raised my stakes and will be running my first marathon, in Brighton, on 7th April.
Despite completing 5 official and 9 total half marathons since I took on this challenge last September, I’m finding the marathon training really hard graft. What has truly kept me going is thinking of the young Women and Girls this funding is supporting. FreetoRun work in conflict zones to educate communities and guide female walking and running groups. Many of their participants have gone on to become ambassadors themselves, slowly turning the tide on female inequality and the right to run or walk outside and feel safe.
Watching the emotional story of the Afghan programme really cast my life in to perspective when I saw it last year. I chose to make some big lifestyle changes, throw myself in to running and haven’t looked back since. Thank you for reading this and for supporting the cause. I highly recommend you find 30m to watch the story yourself, maybe it will be a life-changer for you too.

Why should you donate?
If like me you have a feeling of helplessness hearing of the trauma of war and discrimination in places like Sudan and Afghanistan and want to help a grassroots cause that goes directly towards driving change in those communities.
If you've also felt the uplifting, motivating and inspiring feeling that any exercise, particularly social ones, can deliver.
If you believe that every person should be free to run.
