Sophie's fundraiser for Black Country Women's Aid

Bridgnorth Walk - 22 Miles · 1 May 2023
On Monday 1 May 2023, I will complete the 22-mile Bridgnorth Walk in order to raise funds to support Black Country Women’s Aid, an independent charity which has supported survivors of abuse and exploitation in the West Midlands for 30 years.
Their diverse range of services include: domestic abuse refuge and community support; rape, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse support; forced marriage and honour based violence support; children and young people’s services.
Published statistics about domestic abuse are staggering. In the UK, the police receive a domestic abuse-related call every 30 seconds. 1 in 4 women in England and Wales will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime. On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales.
By supporting charities like Black Country Women's Aid we can help create options for people at risk and in need.
[If you have experienced abuse yourself, or if you are worried about someone else and need advice, Black Country Women's Aid can be contacted on 0121 553 0090. Don’t suffer in silence.]
