Story
In 1996, at aged 9, I sadly lost my dad. His final days were spent resting in a relaxing, friendly & warm place. Saint Michael's Hospice will always be a place incredibly close to my heart for its support to both patients & families - it provided me with ways to cope with lifelong grief & the ability to celebrate life.
The Great North Run is an iconic half marathon connecting its Newcastle city centre starting point to the finishing line over the beaches of South Shields. I am not a runner, and the prospect of running this far is more daunting that trekking up Kilimanjaro or skydiving from 15k feet! In the challenging moments, both in training and on race day, nothing compares to the toughest moments that patients & families of Saint Michael’s…and that will push me though.
Times are tough for many in the world right now, but if you can donate I am very appreciative to raise as much as possible to support this cause & help families in some of their darkest moments.
Right, let’s get cracking…
So far, I’ve planned the following training pieces, so stay tuned to cheer me on! & follow me on social to keep up with how I get on!

About Saint Michael's Hospice
Saint Michael’s is the local hospice care charity ensuring people affected by terminal illness across the Harrogate district can access high quality, personalised care. We do this by offering a range of services from our Hornbeam Park-based hospice, and out in the community in people’s own homes, as well as reaching out regionally and nationally. We are also passionate about working in partnership to enable others to offer hospice-standard care. We believe everyone should get care that is personalised and responsive to their individual needs.
