MindOut is a mental health service based in Brighton and Hove, run by and for LGBT+ people with experience of mental health issues. They offer many services for the community such as suicide prevention, Trans advocacy and peer-to-peer mentoring for everyone.

"coming out" has been one of the most intense things I've ever gone through and there's still a list of people who have no idea that I'm anything but cishet (cisgender (opposite of trans) and heterosexual/straight) and I can't come out to. Being lgbt+ isn't just part of who I am, it is fundamentally me. I've lost so so many friends and family over it, cried and celebrated so many times and just felt lost for a really long time. While my story while it wasn't perfect and at times was scary and really upsetting; it was safe. So many people don't have that. They face fear and violence and hate on a day by day basis and it's wrong...if nothing else it could be me.

I've faced my fair share of homophobia/transphobia in every aspect of my life from education/private life/work no part of me has been untouched by it (and quite frankly my therapist is fed up of hearing about it, jk) help the fight against hate.
