Story
In my final year at Birmingham University, I have become more passionate about running and have enjoyed training with friends and completing Park Runs. I wanted something to work towards and thought it would be fun to complete my first half marathon in the city I go to University.
As a nearly qualified mental health nurse, I wanted to support a charity that supports people’s mental well-being and is there for people in times of crisis.
I am running the Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon 2023 in aid of the Samaritans. Samaritans is a charity which provides a 24-hour call helpline providing emotional support for anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide. Every £5 pounds raised has the potential to answer a potentially lifesaving call!
