On the 8th March, I will be taking part in my first half marathon at Battersea Park to raise awareness of DIPG, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a fast growing, aggressive brain tumour that primarily affects children and young adults.

Billy Thompson was only 4 years old when he was diagnosed with paedriatric DIPG brain cancer in November 2023. After a five month battle, he died on Easter Sunday, 31st March 2024, just before his 5th birthday.

DIPG is under-funded, under-researched and poorly understood. Every nine days a child in the UK is handed this death sentence. DIPG is 100% fatal, highlighting the urgent need for research to find a cure.
