Story

I am taking on a new challenge in 2024 to make a difference to young people in Milton Keynes. I'll be running the 10K at the MK Festival of Running on 17th March for YMCA MK.

This is a new challenge for me! I am starting with a relatively wobbly 5K, so please keep me motivated to pound the pavement by donating 🫶

I have set an ambitious target of £1,000. Thank you for your support!

About YMCA

YMCA MK supports young adults who have experienced homelessness and unemployment and works with them until they have a healthy sense of wellbeing, are in suitable accommodation and employment, and have developed the skills to sustain both.

Since 2017, Milton Keynes has been experiencing a crisis in youth homelessness with numbers reaching a record high. One in 117 people find themselves homeless in our city with over a third of these being under 25.

Living in unstable or unsafe accommodation or, in worst cases, on the streets, is a reality for many of the residents.

In a recent survey, over 50% of YMCA MK's residents had experienced family breakdowns, many have been victims of abuse or violence, have been in the care system or experienced extreme poverty.

Any money you can contribute to sponsor in this challenge will go a long way to help change the life of a young person.
