Story
Well this sounds totally mad but I've decided to take on the Tennis-a-thon this July to support families facing dementia.
The plan is to play tennis for 12 hours straight (08:00 - 20:00) and raise as much as possible. As some may know, I've been playing tennis for the best part of 22 years so I would like to think I'm mostly "ready" for this... 😂 Everyone needs their escape and destress from work and this is mine!
I lost my lovely Nan last year who suffered with Dementia. She was incredibly resilient but found it frustrating and that upset everyone. It's a cruel disease and no one should have to go through it alone.
This one's for you Nan. ❤️
Any donations are massively appreciated and I encourage other people to try something similar with any other sport! 🌟
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
