On November 17th - World Prematurity Day - we are going to be taking part in the Little Lights sponsored walk to raise money for Bliss. Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick.

As many of you will know, our son Albie was born 10 weeks early in December 2021. As a result, we spent 7 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive and Special Care Baby Units at Musgrove Hospital. This was a very traumatic time for all of us and there were many days where we had to experience the worry as to whether we’d even be bringing our beautiful baby home. Not to mention what Albie had to go through daily. We missed out on many things that usually come with the experience of having a baby, as well as enduring some very emotionally painful experiences. All whilst watching our amazing, teeny tiny boy fight for his life.

We feel so lucky and grateful that on the 23rd January 2022, we were able to bring Albie home. Our scary limbo existence was over, our family and close friends could finally meet him and we could enjoy our time together as a family at home.

Bliss is a lifeline for parents who find themselves in this difficult situation. Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
