The students at Glasgow will be taking on an epic trek to support WWF's vital conservation work. Start fundraising to protect and preserve our natural world

Story

I'm in my first year studying Zoology at the University of Glasgow, and over the next few months, me and a group of students from the university are fundraising for the incredible WWF before taking on the challenge to trek to the Everest base camp in August. We are continuing to destroy our world through deforestation, choking the oceans with plastic and increasing the rate of global warming. The WWF are doing everything they can to save our planet, and I am looking forward to this opportunity to help. This is an incredibly personal challenge for me, because animals and nature have been a huge source of wonder and joy for as long as I can remember (but, of course, in recent years, sadness too) since being gifted my first “animal encyclopedia” as a child, between watching every David Attenborough program, to volunteering at a horse riding stables for 7 years, and at a wildlife hospital over the past year. Being able to go on a trek to one of the most awe-inspiring places on earth, in support of the wonderful WWF who are doing crucial work for the environment and endangered animals all across the world, is a privilege.
