Team Red Cross: Great North Run 2024

British Red Cross Great North Run · 8 September 2024 ·
I’m really excited to share that I’m going to be running the Great North Run. This is a half marathon that starts in Newcastle, and ends in South Shields, which is where my parents are from! It is one of the largest half marathon in the world, attracting 60,000 runners each year.
Although I’ve always enjoyed sports, I’m relatively new to running. Since signing up at the start of this year, I’ve been working hard to prepare for this race.
I’m using this opportunity to raise funds for the British Red Cross, an incredible charity that supports millions of people both in the UK and around the world during times of crisis. In the UK, they provide aid to those struggling with the cost of living and loneliness, assist people with mobility needs, and offer emergency support to refugees. Internationally, they respond to emergencies in places like Sudan and Gaza, and work to build strong communities that can withstand and recover from disasters.
These are just a few examples of the vital work the British Red Cross does. I hope that if you are able to, you will consider donating today through my fundraising link.
