Story

As Solihull Hospital celebrates the first anniversary of its Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), the hospital’s Charity is looking to raise funds to create a bespoke assessment bay for children.

We all know it can be scary going to hospital and even more so for a child, that’s why Solihull Hospital Charity wants to help make its young poorly patients feel less anxious during their assessment and treatment at the UTC.

The Charity are looking to fund bespoke wall art to make one of the bays more child-friendly, to not only relax them and their parents but help staff distract the patients while they carry out the treatment. It can make a big difference to a child’s experience and recovery.

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) facility at Solihull Hospital was unveiled, by the Mayor of Solihull on the 28th of June last year and is open from 08:00 – 20:00, seven days a week, providing urgent care for common issues including:

• Broken bones

• Sprains

• Cuts

• Stomach pains

• Rashes

• Minor burns

The new facility is available for adults and children (one year and over).
