In Bangladesh, maternal mortality is the third leading cause of death, yet 90% of these deaths are preventable.

MAA is a student-founded, grassroot charity dedicated to improving the health of mothers in developing countries. We provide medicine, resources and education to these mothers, fathers and young women, in hopes of improving care and empowering the next generation. We run health camps in rural areas of Bangladesh. The mothers who attend then receive follow up treatment every two months from resident doctors. We now also have 3 permanent clinics providing free checks and care! With your help we can keep these running and expand into more areas to help a greater number of mothers!

The money raised provides crucial funding for Maa to continue running our clinics and natural birthing centre in rural areas of Bangladesh. We are also piloting our new healthcare app, MaaConnect, with our MedTech specialists in India. We have also started expanding our work internationally, beginning with Afghanistan - by helping Afghan mothers through The Widow Project (TWP). As well as our period poverty project in India where our Maa team have successfully provided reusable sanitary pads.
