Our names are Millie, Alfie, Maisie, Gipir, Matteo, Eloise, and Esme and we are all in Year 6.
As part of our preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, we are asked to consider the needs of the homeless in Birmingham. So we have decided to do this fundraiser to raise money for SIFA Fireside who help homeless people in our city.
On Saturday 13th May we are spending a night under the stars by camping out. We are going to make this more challenging by sleeping in just a sleeping bag without any of the comforts we are used to. This gives us an insight into what it could feel like to be homeless.
We are doing this because there are many reasons why people might become homeless and in Birmingham, SIFA fireside offer lots of different ways to support them:
It’s not always easy to know how best to support someone who you think might be homeless…But if you support a charity like SIFA Fireside you know that we will be here when someone needs a little bit of extra support, from a hot meal to getting them back into a home
