Story
The Irish Cancer Society has been chosen by the employees of SL Controls to be our Charity of the Year for 2024.
The Irish Cancer Society is a community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals, and researchers. Together they are transforming the experiences and outcomes of people affected by cancer through advocacy, support services, and research.
The Irish Cancer Society typically receives only 5% of its income from the Government so it is thanks to donors, fundraisers, and volunteers that they can provide services and support that make sure that nobody in Ireland has to face cancer alone.
The difference your donation can make:
€30 can help provide transport for a patient to and from their cancer treatment using the Irish Cancer Society’s free Transport to Treatment service.
€60 will cover the cost of a counselling session to help a person cope with a cancer diagnosis in their life.
€430 will cover the cost of one night of Night Nursing, providing end-of-life care to a patient in their own home.
