Story
Skylette is 7 years old. She loves animals and hates the thought of animals being hurt. She is always picking up other people's litter when she sees it as she wants to protect animals and the enviroment so she has asked me if I could buy her a litter picker kit so she can go litter picking when we go for walks.
Skylette also wanted to raise money to help rescue Balu and Benji so she came up with the idea of doing sponsored litter picks so she could do something to help our wildlife whilst also helping Benji and Balu get a safe home.
She will be doing various litter picks across the island in beaches, parks and along the streets during the school holidays. She has committed to do at least one a week starting from 5th August with a little help from her two brothers!!
So please support her in her efforts to raise money for the bears by donating anything you can and sharing this with others.
Thank you!
P.s if you haven't heard of the bears plight already you can read about it below...
Brothers Benji and Balu have spent most of their lives on the side of a restaurant, surviving off scraps from the restaurant and customers. Animal welfare standards are low in Azerbaijan with limited enforcement of the few legal protections that exist. Both bears were malnourished and had significant damage to their teeth from bar-biting, a common stress indicator. The damage to Balu’s teeth was so severe that he had to have two teeth extracted upon examination.
Wildheart animal sanctuary have a suitable area earmarked within their site but they need your help to create an inspiring place for the rescue bears to call home.
Every pound raised can help us reach our goal of £150,000 to ensure a suitable home and transport for these worthy animals.
Help give these deserving bears a second chance at life.
