Story
Personally, I know how drink damages lives. If you have any £ I would really appreciate it!
My cousin died when they were in their 40s. They left some beautiful kids behind who now don't have a parent because alcohol ruined their lives. 14 in every 100000 people a year die from alcohol related causes.
Personally I like a drink but I think we need to have a conversation about the impact of alcohol, so here I am with Alcohol Change UK fundraising and raising awareness.
I pledge to do 50000 steps in a week, which when I despise exercise is something I will not enjoy. My fitbit will publicly shame me on this page if I don't hit my steps!
About Alcohol Change UK
We are Alcohol Change UK. We work for a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol.
We are not anti-alcohol; we are for alcohol change. We are for a future in which people drink as a conscious choice, not a default; where the issues which lead to alcohol problems like poverty, mental health issues, homelessness are addressed; where those of us who drink too much, and our loved ones, have access to high-quality support whenever we need it, without shame or stigma.
About Alcohol Awareness Week
This year's campaign takes place from 1-7 July 2024 on the theme of 'Understanding alcohol harm'.
How your donations can help:
* A donation of £20 could support around 20 people reduce their drinking through Dry January®.
* £30 could help us develop and deliver more training for front line workers and improve support for dependent drinkers.
* £40 could cover the costs of supporting 16 people for six months to reduce their drinking through our Try Dry® app.
