Story
I've challenged myself to do not only the Eden Project Marathon in October, but the London marathon in April aswell as just one marathon wasn’t enough. The Eden project Marathon (26.2 miles) will be my first marathon and is a very challenging route, consisting of lots of hills and difficult terrain across the countryside in Cornwall. I will then spend a gruelling 6 months over the English winter months in the rain to continue my training ready for the London marathon in the spring.
I'm running to raise money for North Devon Salvation Army. Since January I've been working with North Devon Salvation Army helping with their families, schools and youth work. I've also seen their work with homelessness, housing and seeking to support and serve the communities of North Devon. It is challenging and inspiring work and so I'm putting one foot in front of the other over and over again really, really fast for five and a half hours (or less hopefully!) to help support this work.
The money I raise will go straight into supporting our work in North Devon - in particular the projects I am involved in supporting young people who are experiencing poverty and hardship in one of the most deprived communities in England.
