Story
St Michael's Hospice celebrates it's 40th anniversary in October 2024.
To mark this an inspiring group of 24 hospice staff are coming together to embark on a daring challenge - along with invaluable support from MadSat Raft team.
This event will consist of 40km rafting/ 40km walking/ 40km cycling. A grand total of 120km all in one day!!!
The team is made up of therapy, nursing, medical and support staff who are all involved directly in patient care at St Michael's Hospice.
We believe it is a privilege to be able to provide care and support to patients and their families during the journey towards and at the end of life. To ensure that people feel safe, valued and dignified during this time is at the centre of everything we do.
None of us are elite athletes and recognise how hard this challenge will be to complete. However each and everyone of us will draw inspiration from remembering the patients we have treated over the years.
The donations you give will matter, each and every pound raised from this event will allow us to continue providing palliative care to the people of Herefordshire and surrounding areas.
"I feel lucky to work with such a fantastic team of health care professionals and volunteers. Together we support the community and patients - who in turn support us at St Michael's"
Dr Janet Hastle - Specialist Palliative Care Doctor (Titan 2024).
It's a difficult time and if we can give them some lasting happiness we will do our best"
