Story
Hello, I'm taking part in this event to raise money for CALM. Mental health struggles are sadly often a taboo subject that people feel uncomfortable talking about. I have experienced mental health struggles in close family and friends over the years and know how important it is for an individual to know that someone is there for them. The 23rd October marks a year since I lost my friend Amy who had bravely battled a lot of issues for many years. I'm completing this event in her memory and to raise money for a charity that can help support people during their darkest times.
I'm doing 62 Miles in October for Campaign Against Living Miserably and your contribution will make an impact, however much, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
A bit about the charity:
We’re the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we’re taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.
Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change this - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably.
