Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you all know I work at St Wilfrid's Hospice and have one for the past 10 years. I love my job and St Wilfrid's has always a special place to work but in 2020 St Wilfrid's became more than a place of work for me. It became much more personal as it was the place my dad spent the last 3 weeks of life.
I have always known how caring, compassionate and hardworking all the teams are at St Wilfrid's Hospice but to witness this first hand from the other side of the bed was something else. Not only did they take great care of Dad but us as his family as well. He was able to do things in those 3 weeks he wouldn't have been able to anywhere else.
To ensure St Wilfrid's can continue the work they do, they largely depend on fundraising so for over the next 5 months I will completing a virtual 500 mile journey. It takes me from St Wilfrid's where Dad died to Glasgow where Dad was born via Egremont where he grew up.
Starting 21st Feb and finishing on 21st July what would be Dads 61st birthday I will virtually travel 500miles via walks, runs, and cycles both in the gym and on the road. This averages just over 3 miles a day. I aim to do this on top of my normal routine/walks.
Please give any little bit you can and wish me luck!
If anyone feels like a walk/run let me know a trip to Glasgow alone would be pretty lonely.
