I will be braving the trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro from the 21st August 2025 in order to raise money to aid the research of and to help combat against Meningitis.

What is meningitis?

Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges, the protective lining around the brain and spinal cord, often caused by infections. Septicemia, or blood poisoning, is also caused by these germs.

Both Meningitis and Septicemia are serious conditions that can lead to death or long-term disability within hours.

While it is often assumed that only babies and toddlers are at the highest risk, university students are also placed at high risk due to the fact that symptoms can disguise themselves as a hangover or even the fresher's flu.

This fundraiser's aim is to raise money for awareness and to help those affected get the help and supports they need while also allowing us to envision a world where effective vaccines to protect everyone is possible.
