So in 2023 we did 50 k for JK memory walk in what would have been my beautiful sister, Julia's 50 year.
This year I turn 50 and although 42k for JK might seem like a step backwards it's just me this time running all 42k in one day in the shape of the Manchester Marathon. My first and I can confidently say my last marathon.
I'm running for Mind to promote mental wellbeing. Over the last 6 years my life has changed beyond what I could ever imagine in both good ways and bad, firstly losing Julia, followed not long after by mum, then dads time came to join my heavenly family. The sadness of all this was interspersed with 2 two gorgeous boys joining our family who bring love and laughter but the challenges of motherhood are hard. This has been a roller coaster and whilst there are lots of good times I know more than ever the important of taking care of me as well as looking out for others.
It takes just one kind word or tiny action to change someone's day. I'll always remember Ju helping me to pump my tyres up and hoover my.car when i was having a bad day, it changed my day and made me feel so much better it's something I still don't like doing today but with her help it was easy. So many times over the years Ju helped me with big and small things.
All the big things can become small and 26 miles for me is massive but I know I'll do it with Ju spurring me on.
If you can spare a a pound ot two to help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
Mind believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.
