We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

The word ‘dementia’ describes a set of symptoms that over time can affect memory, problem-solving, language and behaviour. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia.

There are approaching 1M people with dementia in the UK. This is likely to rise to 1.6M in less than 20 years.

At Simpler Law, and across our sister companies in the HAIG Legal Group, Fidelis Legal Services and Northwood Banks & Co, we take our duty of care very seriously. Many people approach us to deal with their Estate Planning and prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney and it is vital that they have the capacity to understand the process, and the services they are requesting. We cannot and will not take the instruction of someone who doesn’t have the mental capacity.

It is this significant link between the services we offer and dementia which inspired us to make Alzheimer's Society our first ever Charity of the Year. Between December 2023 and December 2024, we are hoping to raise at least £5,000 for Alzheimer’s Society, through donations and various fundraising events. We will link all our fundraising to this Just Giving page so that everyone can see how we are progressing and donate should they so wish.

Join us on our journey and help us reach our target before next December!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
