Summer and I are absolutely terrified to have been chosen as one of the 'lucky' couples to help raise money for Weston Hospice, by taking part in this glamourous event!

Both Summer and I work as nursing home managers in Weston-super-Mare, and met just over 2 years ago when Summer took over as the manager of The Manor House where I was working at the time. Crazily 2 years later, I am now Managing St Georges Nursing Home which is where Summer used to work!!

Although we met a couple of years ago, we are a relatively new couple and decided that raising money while learning ballroom dancing would be a perfect way to bond - with Summer's 2 left feet and my inherent ability to transform any dance floor into a comedy scene, I am sure we will enjoy the journey and entertain everyone at the finale!

The Manor House - where we first met - actually used to be the home of the hospice some years ago, and through our work we have both worked closely with the amazing nurses and staff at Weston Hospice, and thought that this would be a way to try to thank them all for the wonderful work and support they provide to people in the most difficult of days.

Just 20% of the hospices income is provided by the the Somerset CCG, so we rely on the loyal and kind-hearted people of Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and Sedgemoor to raise the rest.

Every penny we receive from revenue made in our shops, from your event sponsorship, corporate donations and gifts left in wills ensures you, our brilliant supporters, fund 80% of the hospices operating costs.

So however much or small every donation matters and don't forget to gift aid your donation if you pay tax in the UK!
