Team Luton Lions Running the London Marathon 2025 for Children with Cancer UK and I am honoured to be part of the team raising money for this amazing charity. Carry on reading to find out why.......

On Sunday, 27th April 2025, Team Luton Lions will take on the ultimate challenge, the London Marathon. For 16 weeks, we will push ourselves through rigorous training, battling aching muscles, freezing cold early mornings, and countless miles. Why? Because every step we take is for a cause far greater than ourselves, supporting children with cancer.

This mission is deeply personal to us. Our journey began in 2017, inspired by the courage of Finley, a brave young boy diagnosed with cancer at an early age. Running the 2018 London Marathon in his honour sparked a passion and a purpose that continues to drive us today.

Children with Cancer UK is a lifeline for families facing the unimaginable. Every day in the UK, 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. That’s 12 families whose worlds are turned upside down. While survival rates have improved over the years, cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in children. Children with Cancer UK funds vital research to improve treatments, find cures, and support families during their most challenging times.

This isn’t just a race, it’s a fight for hope, healing, and a future where no family has to hear the words, “Your child has cancer.”
