14th January 2022 saw our world turn upside down, when Osian woke up like a different child. Very sudden onset of sensory issues, anxiety and OCD. Other symptoms included separation anxiety, hallucinations at night, joint pain, episodes of rage, and school refusal. To name but a few.

Unfortunately, there is limited awareness and guidelines surrounding treatment of PANS/PANDAS under the NHS, and this has been our experience over the last two years of trying to get Osian the help he needs.

PANS and PANDAS are conditions causing inflammation in the brain resulting in neuro-psychiatric symptoms such as OCD, tics, eating disorders and anxiety along with many more.

More commonly affecting children, these conditions can be isolating and life changing. PANS PANDAS UK's mission is to ensure speedy diagnosis and effective treatment for sufferers by educating the medical community as well as offering support to sufferers and their families.
