Story

Hello World, I'm Simon.

In June 2023 I received a devastating diagnosis - early onset Motor Neurone Disease.

MND is a rapidly progressing and fatal neurodegenerative disorder that destroys the connections between your brain and your muscles.

It leaves you paralysed; unable to move, unable to talk, and unable to swallow food or water. People with MND usually die within 3 years due to respiratory failure, as the disease slowly paralyses your diaphragm.

All the while, your mind remains switched on, watching itself become increasingly locked inside your own body. It’s a living nightmare.

There are currently no effective treatments and no cure, but there have been some wonderful research breakthroughs in the last 5 years and the latest clinical trials are showing promise.

I’m launching this fundraiser to help the MND Association find more effective treatments through research and medical trials. All funds will go towards finding a cure for MND.

I hope to raise £5,000 initially, through some amazing fundraising feats being undertaken by my wonderful friends and colleagues.

That’s £1 for each of the ~5,000 people living with MND across the UK at this moment.

Please donate if you can, so we can help make MND history, and perhaps even give me a bit more time with my young family.

Thank you!
