Story
In memory of our dear friend and colleague Matt Pearce who tragically passed away last April whilst training for the Halow Charity cycle ride, Andrew Scannell, Rhys Evans and I are taking part in the Halow 250 cycle ride.
This is a 250 mile cycle ride from Twickenham to France and then back to Guildford, in 2 1/2 days. Hopefully we can raise a significant sum in his memory and to support the charity he was proud to support.
The Halow250 cycle is in its tenth and final year! The monies raised through 2023's event will see a magnificent £1million raised in total for halow project across the last ten years.
halow project removes the barriers to opportunities that often face people with learning disabilities. We all want - and deserve - to have friends, to have a meaningful purpose in life, and to enjoy living in the way that we want to. These every day goals can be very difficult for someone with learning disabilities to reach without support - and that's where halow makes the difference.
The charity provides much-needed opportunities to socialise, to be part of a community, to develop talents and to learn key skills, and to find opportunities to work or volunteer. Its 1-2-1 support workers, supported living service, educational programmes, skills sessions and social activities enable the people it supports to live rich, busy and fulfilling lives, as independently as possible
