Story
I'll be running the London Marathon in honour of my mum who sadly passed away 20 years ago after she was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy.
My mum was an amazing person, loved to travel and always looked on the positive side of life. Her life was taken from her when she started to get poorly and was finally diagnosed with MSA. MSA is a neurological disorder which causes the shrinking of nerve cells in the brain, this results in problems with bodily functions such as speech, movement and balance.
Fortunately MSA is relatively rare, although not as rare as once thought, there are around 3,300 people living with the condition in the UK.
The Multiple System Atrophy Trust, formerly the Sarah Matheson Trust which my mum strongly supported, looks after anyone who's lives are affected by this terrible condition and I will be running the London Marathon to raise as much as I can for them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I'm very grateful for any donations, no matter how big or small.
Simon
