Two routes, one reason: supporting Sid Valley’s very own charity funded hospice service. What better excuse to geddon’ and ramble!

Story

In 2018 I lost my lovely friend Emma to breast cancer. She received amazing hospice care and I'm taking part in Emma's memory to raise a little money for this great cause.

Sidmouth Hospice at Home is the charity funded, specialist hospice service supporting adults living with life limiting illness across Sidmouth and the wider Sid Valley community.

It’s an independent service that’s considered to be innovative – because their specialist clinical care is delivered to patients at home – and it’s also exemplary, with the ‘Sidmouth Model’ viewed as an example for positive change.

Whilst it represents excellent value for money, in the coming year it will cost more than £890,000k to fund their specialist, 24/7 palliative service for the community.

Unlike the vast majority, our hospice does not receive any government funding to support costs. It’s a service funded entirely by the community, for the community, making it all the more remarkable.

It's set to be a great event for Sidmouth RFC and the wider community. Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for your support.
