Story

14 months ago I was involved in a major car accident along with my beautiful wife Sarah and 2 wonderful friends. Fortunately we survived, however 2 people did not and we all mindful of this as we continue to recover from our injuries. I am particulary grateful to the surgical team headed up by Surgeon Commander Jowan Penn-Barwell who, along with two metal rods, some bolts and a plastic surgeon, managed to put me back together.

So.....15 months has passed and I have decided to run The London Marathon in aid of BLESMA: the limbless veterans. This is the charity that Jowan supports and so in some small measure I am raising money to thank the talented, skilled team at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

To lower expectations, my aim is to finish....preferably before the cut off time of 8 hours and not to be at the top of the leader board!

Many thanks for your support.

Simon
