Simon’s First Birthday: A Special Way to Celebrate

This year, as we celebrate Simon’s first birthday, we’re reminded of just how far he has come. Simon was born six weeks early, arriving into this world as a tiny, but mighty, fighter. It was a time filled with uncertainty, worry, and hope. Thanks to the incredible care provided by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Simon received the specialized attention he needed to grow stronger each day.

The NICU became more than just a place for Simon to heal; it became our lifeline. The nurses and doctors not only cared for Simon but also supported us as parents during those challenging early weeks. They celebrated every milestone with us, from his first stable breath to the day we finally brought him home. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise gave us the greatest gift of all: the chance to watch Simon thrive.

Today, Simon is a happy, healthy one-year-old, full of laughter and curiosity. We can’t imagine this journey without the support of the NICU staff and the resources they had at their disposal.
