Story
*Join us for a night of golden era classics and help raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK*
Friday, 19th July. Upstairs at the Gatehouse theatre, Highgate, London.
Award-winning actor, singer and writer, Beth Burrows, joins Fleet Singers - a Hampstead-based no-audition community choir - for this one-off concert. Together, they will celebrate Old Hollywood movie classics! Material will be drawn from Beth’s two critically-acclaimed stage shows: 'Sirens of the Silver Screen' and 'Luck Be A Lady'. Expect cool, harmonious arrangements of catchy numbers from your favourite films, originally performed by Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.
And it’s all for a great cause – and one close to Beth’s heart. If nothing changes, one in two of us will be directly affected by dementia – either by developing the condition ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both. As the UK’s leading dementia research charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK are determined to stop this from becoming a reality.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Pauline Burrows, Beth’s beloved Granny. Pauline passed away this spring at age of 98. She loved music and played piano her whole life, until her Alzheimer’s disease began.
