Mark Douglas, Ruby Duff, Oliver Hickey, Shula Kerr, Peter Leathem and Laurence Oxenbury will be travelling to Copenhagen to run the half marathon on Sunday 17 September. They will be joined by PPL alumni Emma Philpot and Shula’s friend Ruth Webster. We are a group of mixed experience (with a couple of us never having run as far before) but we are hoping that the relatively flat course will help as we take on the challenge.

We are raising money for a charity that is very close to our hearts, suggested by our dear friend and colleague David Harmsworth, PPL's General Counsel, who is currently undergoing treatment for a rare and aggressive form of advanced bowel cancer whilst only in his mid-40s.

Amongst other important work, Bowel Cancer UK champions research into detecting and treating bowel cancer (the fourth most common cancer, and second-biggest cancer killer, in the UK), campaigns to raise awareness (such as the Never Too Young campaign, highlighting the growing prevalence of bowel cancer in the under-50s) and provides valuable forums for bowel cancer patients and their loved ones to access resources, share experiences and seek support.
