The new date for the whole school sponsored walk is Thursday 27 March 2025, following the postponement from September due to flooding of the route. Thank you to all those who sponsored and made donations at the time, we are not expecting people to donate again - but we hope that anyone who didn't get round to supporting last term is able to for this new date to help us reach our target.

On Thursday 27 March 2025, pupils and staff of Shiplake College will be completing their biennial whole school sponsored walk along the River Thames, from Moulsford to Shiplake, via Goring, Pangbourne, Caversham and Sonning.

The distance will depend on the year group, which is 18.4 miles (Years 12 and 13); 16 miles (Year 11); 12.7 miles (Years 9 and 10); and 12 miles (Years 7 and 8). This is a substantial effort in support of our 30-year link with Gap-Africa, and our House Sponsorship of eight pupils in schools in the Kikunduku area of Kenya.

We hope that each pupil will try and raise at least £50 - please share this page with family members and friends in the hope they can offer their support (ideally add the pupil name/initials and house in the comments section).
