Story

As many of you know while we were pregnant our beautiful baby girl was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. It was an incredibly scary time full of unknowns especially as we knew nothing about Down syndrome and the impact it would have for our beautiful baby and our family.

After lots of research and finding amazing groups like Positive about Down Syndrome we have learnt so much and become part of an incredible inclusive community.

It’s not been easy, for Evie or us due to various diagnoses and open heart surgery but one thing is for sure, if our beautiful Evie can go though open heart surgery and come out still smiling at 3 months old and just so strong and courageous how can we complain!

Our Evie is the most precious beautiful little soul, she smiles and melts everyone’s heart she meets. We as a family are just so proud of her and her strength. She makes us all smile everyday. When she hits milestones or wows us all with even the smallest progression, it means so much to all of us.

When we were told by the hospital that our Evie was T21, it was a very negative experience which had a huge impact on us all. BUT when Evie arrived, we soon realised how wrong others were and that she is quite simply the best thing to happen to us and is most definitely teaching us all so many things and I’m sure will continue to do so.

Evie is a gift that we are so lucky to have. She is a blessing.
