Here I go again, I cannot believe we have been given this opportunity, not only is it a bucket list moment, but it’s also a pinch me moment.
The British Liver Trust have chosen myself and Jodie to run the London Marathon in 2025, why?
As you all may know in 2022 myself and my friend Steph climbed mount snowdon at night, in my Dad’s memory for the British Liver Trust, as he passed away with liver failure.
2025 would have been his retirement year, before we realised how serious his illness was, me and dad had made a pact that once he got better we would run the London marathon together!
The British Liver Trust have given both me and Jodie a space, and we’re both going to do it to give something back to say thank you!
This charity was there in our darkest hours, by being at the end of the phone when no one would take us seriously. We would also like to help stamp out the stigma that goes with liver problems, to help with earlier diagnosis even if we can just help one family have a better experience then what we went through then we will have achieved something.
So this year we are both embracing running and serious hard training, this is not going to be an easy task by any means! It’s going to be both mentally, physically and emotionally a hard challenge, but one that means so much to cross that finish line to us both!
