Story
Hi all,
My name is Lee, I am a very dear friend of Kev's AKA Shelfy.
I first met Shelfy when we worked together, we became good friends, and after i retired from football anf kickboxing, through injury, i was worried about my weight, so shelfy suggested mountain biking. This was the start of my mountain biking journey, and as Shelfy was an expierences and well-thought-of mountain biker, and it was he that introduced me to Llandegla. From then on i fell in love with both MTB and Llandegla.
From there, as life went on, the most horrible day came when Shelfy was diagnosed with Cancer, unfortunately, he passed away on the 17th May '23. The only fitting tribute we could do for him to celebrate his life, was this challenge. The only way this challenge will be possible is with the support of my fantastic team, #TeamShelfy.
On the 16th May I will be doing a 24hr bike ride around Trefonen and the neighbouring areas to honour this great man!
As for the actual charity itself, Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.
It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, the hospice will spend 88p directly on care – and use the remaining 12p to make another £1.
Last year, all those individual donations meant the hospice could be there when it mattered for 3,000 local families.
