Story
It's my special birthday in July and my friends are always so generous with cards and gifts but really I have all I could ever need and want.
I would really like to help my friend's charity in Malawi (Changing Stars Malawi) as I can see how much they do for the children there in helping with their education and supporting the community.
Children everywhere love water and the rural area in which Changing Stars Malawi works is next to the lake. It is an every day part of life in Malawi as children go there to bathe, to collect water and to play. Sadly not many children are taught to swim and there are frequent drownings of both children and adults in the lake which could be avoided. Tragically when Charlie was visiting in April 2023 a 6 year old little girl died and last week a 31 year old young man also drowned.
The charity are wanting to buy a mannequin and a defibrillator machine for the local clinic so that first aid training classes can be organised, and to ensure that if someone does get into difficult there is a chance they can be saved. The charity has two nurses visiting in summer who can deliver this training if the charity can buy the equipment. Charlie would ensure further training going forward.
If you would like to donate in lieu of a card or gift (which of course is not expected) then I would ask you donate on here as it feels like this is something we could all do together to literally save lives.
If you are in the UK then please sign the gift aid form too.
Thank you again so much for your donation which will do so much.
