OCHRE works to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer, a hard to treat, less survivable cancer. We fund research to support better outcomes. We work with health services and policy makers to improve understanding of the dangers of heartburn and the need for earlier diagnosis which can save lives.

Story

I am raising money in memory of my Dad, who was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer just after Father’s Day in 2022. Like so many families, our world changed in an instant.

Despite his strength and determination, Dad sadly passed away in January 2023, just six months after his diagnosis. Those months were incredibly hard for him and for all of us who loved him, and they showed us first-hand how devastating this disease can be.

This fundraising is my way of honouring my Dad’s memory and helping to support vital research, awareness, and care, so that other families may have more time, more options, and more hope than we did.

Every donation, no matter how small, means so much and helps keep his memory alive while making a real difference. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you are able to give.
