Story
Hi friends,
This is Joie’s fourth-year a Fluttering for Unravel. She has set a goal of $800 to raise this year. Joie was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor in June of 2018. She had surgery to remove a kidney, radiation and chemotherapy. In August she her 4 1/2 year post treatment appointment with NED results. We are so thankful for her success but the long term side effects from treatment will be on going. In September she will see a pediatric orthopedist for two spots of scoliosis in her spine. She also has a great deal of anxiety. We are fortunate enough to have found equine therapy that has worked great for her. As always, thank you for the support along the way. We know we are making a difference in the fight.
We are Fluttering this year to raise awareness about childhood cancer, and to help fund pediatric cancer research. Fluttering will be going on for the entire month of September, so please help us continue this chain of community awareness!
Unravel is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to bridge the gap in funding for pediatric cancer research. With the help of warrior families and their communities, Unravel raises awareness of the need for this research and the funds to support it.
Unlike the typical grant funding model, Unravel gives unrestricted funds to innovative pediatric cancer researchers, which removes barriers and accelerates the development of more effective and less toxic treatments for children with cancer.
