Story
In August, exactly one week before my daughter, Zella’s 2nd birthday after only being slightly poorly the night before I took her to a&e to get checked over. Not thinking too much about it, and expecting to be home in a couple of hours to then being taken for an ultrasound in a room full of Doctors and thinking that was strange.. after getting back to her bed in a&e I was told I need to get Zella’s dad, Ryan, here right away. Once he arrived we were taken in to a private room where we were then told the most shocking, horrific and heartbreaking thing you could ever hear. Zella has a large tumour in her abdomen/pelvic area. We were taken to the ward immediately were they began every test, scan and biopsy they could do. Within 48 hours it was confirmed, Zella has neuroblastoma and treatment started the very same day! We are now going into Zella’s third round of chemotherapy and we couldn’t be more grateful to all the doctors, nurses and everybody working with Zella at Addenbrookes!!
My mum, Zella’s Nanny, who has supported us every step of the way. Especially with our five year old son, Milo, Zella’s big brother! Zella’s Nanny, Sue, would love to raise much needed money for the Neuroblastoma Uk charity alongside raising awareness for this disease which is not often heard about as it makes up for only 8% of childhood cancers, all of which are mostly under 5 years old.. My mum will be shaving her hair off on her birthday 1st December (or the nearest day possible in case we’re in hospital as we want to be together) for this cause.
Thank you for reading our story about our baby girl, Zella! We would be extremely grateful if you could donate even just a few £’s or even just share our story on to help aid researches and other families like ours. Every penny of money raised will go towards this charity to help treat as many children as possible!!💖💖💖
