Story
I am currently hosting a solo, outdoor exhibition in the alleyway leading up to the Peckham Levels entrance where I am showcasing 25 6ft paintings of Peckham street life and it’s beauty, I’ve named it “Peckham is beautiful! What?” and it will be open to the public 24/7, night and day for one year until December 2024.
I want to extend this inclusivity even wider and I was thinking of how I can make art accessible to all, as well as helping the community that has been the subject of this whole exhibition. I came up with the idea of donating some of the paintings to youth/ community groups and schools for free. In addition to this, local businesses, cafes, office spaces, restaurants can have a painting from this exhibition if they make a donation to St. Giles Trust in exchange. Please contact me if you are a local business and you may be interested- contact@shaunafox.com
I am also raffling off two paintings, (paintings pictured on this link) that I will be giving away for FREE to two members of the public. All you have to do is make a donation to this page. You can donate as little or as much as you can- If everyone walking past this exhibition donated £1 for one year period that the exhibition is up we would absolutely smash this target x100. Every little helps and I'd absolutely love to hit the £10,000 target. Make sure you include your name and email so I can use your name in the draw. The winners will be announced in December 2024.
I chose this charity as they are based in South London and do a lot to help the community in Camberwell and Peckham area, they also offer services to those from all different walks of life which was important to me. They used lived experiences and peer support to provide services to those held back in poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with addiction or mental health problems, caught up in crime or a combination of these issues.
