Story
As you may know in January 2023 Louise was told she had Acute Promyleocytic Leukaemia.
Now she is in Full Molecular Remission! 🎉
During her treatment she met incredible staff in 10 North and Bridgewater Suite in Belfast City Hospital and with the help of the work of the Friends of the Cancers Centre she fought the battle and kicked cancers ass!💪
If you don’t know, Friends of the Cancer Centre's work focuses on four key areas – patient care, patient comfort, research and cancer awareness – supporting the services provided by the Health Service.
Louise accessed each of these areas from getting her cup of tea, a bit of TLC by receiving complimentary therapy sessions to in those early days of her diagnosis receiving the grant to ease financial stress ☺️ All very important to help Louise stay strong as possible through her treatment and recovery.
So now it is our turn to give back and say thanks by doing an abseil 1 year and 5 months after her diagnosis 🙈 Are we wise? Not sure but we know it will be worth it because of the life changing work this charity does.
In the last year the charity has invested over £1.13 million into local cancer services through the life-saving and life-changing work we support.
How your support can make a difference:
☕️£10 could provide tea and coffee for 43 people attending the hospital for treatment
🥰 £25 could help pay for an hour of support from a Friends of the Cancer Centre speciality nurse
🧘 £50 could pay for 2 patients to receive a complementary therapy session to help manage the side effects of treatment
💸 £200 could help support a patient financially through the grant programme
