Team Rainbows London Marathon 2025

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hello, I’m Shaun Taylor and I am going to be running the London Marathon in April 2025 to raise money for Rainbows hospice in Loughborough, so you may ask why I have chosen this charity, well how do you tell my story in a short bio 💙
So in 2006 I became a proud daddy to my first born child George Eden-Taylor, unfortunately things didn’t go well and my son was brain injured by the NHS after his birth, as you can imagine this was beyond devastating and everything I had ever thought I would do with my son & share felt like it was going to be impossible as he had Athotoid Cerebral Palsy , now fast forward to the age of 10 and wow what a boy 💙nothing stopped this lad, he was truly inspiring to any one who knew him , together we decided together we would run our local Mansfield 10k, I pushed him and his equipment and together we achieved something that had felt impossible years before, his chosen charity was Rainbows 🌈 as for the first 5 years of George’s life they were so kind and helpful to us as a family as by 2010 we were a family of 4 as our beautiful Ebonie was born, they offered us respite to enjoy our new baby daughter as George required 24 hour care . So George wanted to say a big thank you as did I 🙏 🌈 together we raised almost 3k , now fast forward to 2020 💔💙🌈 my son lost his fight 💔💙🌈, my gorgeous son passed away on November 10th in the year of 2020 at the time of 2020, his passing was totally unexpected for us all 🥲George’s final days were the worst I have ever experienced , the pain is unimaginable, one of George’s wishes was that we ran the London marathon together, so in memory of my George and to live his wish and a dream of mine, I am running in his memory, I am running this for my boy 🌈💙 he will be with me, this I know, I am also 50 in May 2025 so the time feels right.
Far too many children leave us too early and sadly Rainbows 🌈 families know this too well, so please can you sponsor me to raise as much as I can to donate to an amazing charity who assist with not only palliative care but to give families with children who have a different path in life happiness and memories they will treasure, I appreciate that times are hard for many financially but every £ really does count, so from myself and George, thank you for your kind donation 💙🌈🦸🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️
