Story
On the 14th July 2017 my youngest child Caitlin, aged 18, was tragically killed as a front seat passenger in a fatal road traffic collision.
Road traffic collisions are the main cause of death in the age group of 17-24 year olds.
This November in memory of my daughter Caitlin Lydia Huddleston I'm taking part in the #Brake5 Challenge for Road Safety Week to raise funds for Brake, the road safety charity. I will be walking 5 miles on 5 days of Road Safety Week completing a total of 25 miles.
Caitlin's birthday nearly always falls during Road Safety Week and in November this year Caitlin should/would be aged 25 on the 23rd of November 2023. Sadly she will be forever 18 in our precious memories of her. We think about her and miss her every minute of every single day and it's heartbreaking that we will never know and she sadly never got to experience, what she would be doing with her life now as a young 25 year old.
This is why I have chosen to walk 25 miles, in memory of the age Caitlin should be this November.
Tragically every day, five people die on UK roads so I will also be walking the 5 miles on 5 days during Road Safety Week in memory of those lives lost.
Road crashes are devastating events for everyone involved. When the worst happens, Brake’s National Road Victim Service is there to help. Brake supports hundreds of families affected by road crashes each month. All funds raised through the #Brake5 Challenge will help Brake provide more care for road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone.
Please help me raise funds for this much needed charity 🙏
Thank you so much for your support!
